"Artists help us to understand what is around us."

photo BPlus StudioI recently completed a residence for clients shown above and hung a piece Glenn Payan's art.
"The subjects of many of Glenn’s paintings are colourful and, sometimes moody, whimsical landscapes: west coast and mountain villages, local Vancouver scenes and perched roadways winding along coastal waterways and between majestic mountains. His obsession with the Sea to Sky corridor, between Vancouver and Whistler has produced many stunning pieces."
In case you haven't heard Vancouver & Whistler are hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics.
very striking!
ReplyDeleteThe artwork is colourful and lively. It's great. But I think the success of you hanging it the space is in how you decided to paint the wall it hangs on in a different colour than the white walls of the kitchen. I think that really works well, and the artwork wouldn't look as nice on a white wall.
ReplyDeleteLove the depth of field in this image - great choice of bringing bold colour into a space yet serene in the subject matter. Thank you so much Patricia for adding my to your blog roll, I'm honored to included. I've been away on a blog vacation and will be back into joining the blog neighborhood again - looking forward to hearing more of what inspires you. All the best! Hope you had a great long weekend. (ps. love your most current work, it's great to see your approach to modern contemporary interiors)
ReplyDeleteHi Gail
ReplyDeleteThanks for your praise for my work.
I admire your blog and you have given me a lot of inspiration.
Will be checking out your blog regularly. All the best.....
I LOVE the way you styled the kitchen as well!
ReplyDeleteThose paintings look like David Hockney took a trip to B.C. - I love the colors and the perspective!
