{ The Art of Chic Flower Arranging }

These are some images of flower arrangements that caught my eye on my latest trip to LA and Dallas. I was attracted to these because of their simplicity and freshness. I always prefer flower arrangements to be showcased as a single variety and of the same color. And of course you can never go wrong with an all white flower arrangement. I keep an assortment of different sizes and shapes of clear glass containers in my pantry ready to put any length of fresh stems in. Make sure to cut the bottoms 1/2" off the stems before you put them in water. It will help to keep them fresher longer.

Another arrangement at Bunches of Stocks in the Lobby of our Hotel in Dallas, simply tied and put in a vase on a base of charcoal.

Roses beside the elevator in our Hotel in Dallas. The bottom of the vase is filled with charcoal. The vases are stacked on top of each other with nothing holding them together other than their weight.

  8. Hi Things that Inspire
    You truly don't need to be an expert to do these simple arrangements. A bunch of flowers and a clear vase and voila you have an arrangement.

  12. Hi ATB&B and ND
    Those roses are strung together with lengths of fishing twine. I didn't think to check but I am assuming that they were weighted on the bottom. Quite a feat, but a real show stopper.

  16. I was scanning the internet to find what people have written about GV and stumbled upon your blog. I know this is a super old post but appreciate all the nice things everyone said about the flower arrangments. I am on the visual team and actually did those roses floating.

    Patricia- you are right, they are weighted at the bottom with washers. the amount you put on there depend on the Buoyancy of the roses. then from there they are literally strung from monofiliment with equal space between. super easy!

    i have enjoyed perusing your blog.

  18. A very nice post. Your pictures also help to prove your point about the simplicity and beauty of having an arrangement of all one color. A lot of flower arranging courses focus on traditional multi-colored arrangements. This was refreshing to see. Thank you for sharing.
