Window Blinds

As an Interior Designer I am always on the lookout for new and unique products. So when I came across these blinds that Suntwist, a French company, is manufacturing I took notice. Leave it to the French to reinvent the wheel for the standard, quite boring horizontal blinds. I normally do not use this form of window covering, but the following are some examples that have really captured my interest.

Sandblasted Acrylic - these would be wonderful in a contemporary setting. I can imagine that the quality of light they let through would be quite amazing.

Faux embossed reptile - How great these would look in a Den.

Leather Look at the detail they put into the grommets

And they are hand stitched on the underneath. A very luxurious window treatment indeed!

  9. I always thought blinds were boring but the leather and faux reptile really caught my eye. Nice funky twist on something conventional. I imagine the ambient lighting would be neat from the acrylic ones as Patricia pointed out. Thank you for sharing! I've seen your interiors in magazines and quite enjoy your blog and talent.

Patricia: The acrylic blinds remind me so much of the Florida and South Texas Jalousie blinds of my youth. I think you could use those in some non-modern spaces, like a sunporch. I'd love the light and still have the privacy as ours faces the street. These would be great as well in a bath. Imagine stitching that leather over the blind! Very nice. I hadn't seen any of these.

Patricia! Thanks so much for the addition of Decor Journal to your blogging friends list. I've already had several visits from some of your readers!

I can't get the idea of those blinds (if they are available in 2 inch blinds) in rich camel colored leather in my den/office. The stitching is great!

Thanks again. Love the blog as always.
