5 Interior Design Blogs We Couldn't Live Without This cleanly designed and beautifully photographed blog is the creation of a generous interior designer. Vancouver based Patricia Gray shares her keen eye for style, takes us on trips around the world and points out the resources and materials that she enjoys using on a job. The later is particularly useful for interior designers. It's great to see a master designer work, to look at her resources as they appear in finished spaces, and get an analysis of why and how they function beautifully. You also get the bonus of a well-trained feng shui expert, layered on top of this interior designer, and you can better understand why Patricia's interiors exude calm, serenity, and strong flow.
Patricia Gray is an interior designer par excellence with a pedigree that would wow anyone. Her innovative design work has been featured all over the world, and in many different publications (including the renowned Architectural Digest). Patricia's warm style and originality have helped skyrocket her to the top of the interior design world, and her blog reflects this. Design 55 UK

Patricia, you give us aspects of the world that we might never see; ideas to inspire us, pictures that move us emotionally, a view to a kinder, more artistic world that lies within our reach. This must take time and energy, and I am most thankful for your blog. J Marie Goodwin Vancouver
You have one very nice blog bravo !!!

Hi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteThe images look prestine. It is a well balanced modern look. But I cannot help myself always thinking..... who can live in this? How do you keep a greenhouse box like this cool in summer? How long till everything is faded and cracked by all that lovely sunshine streaming into this house.
Architecturally the floating roof is a real achievement, but it turns out, most people feel uncomfortable in a structure that looks unsupported.
Ron ( the Netherlands)
Hi Ron
ReplyDeleteIt is true that not everyone feels comfortable living in modern architecture. Hopefully the problems of large expanses of windows and the greenhouse effect that can result have been carefully thought out and taken into consideration in advance eg: Low E glazing on glass to control heat transfer, proper site orientation to sun exposure, cross ventilation, adequate roof overhang, surrounding landscaping, and fade resistant materials and finishes.
Hi Patricia,
ReplyDeleteHow can I resist not to comment on this Post which brings me back to my first city and its designers...ah! Dordoni, ah! Urquiola ah! many others...
I sometimes share Ron's thoughts but as you said there are ways to overcome potential problems.
High Design is also like High Fashion (Alta Moda instead of Pret a Porter, missing some accents here, apologies)and proposes trends to be then modified for everyday life(unless you are one of the happy few).
Oh how I swoon for modern architecture! One of my biggest regrets is that i did not buy a modern home i listed and sold last summer. My post "Modern Mama" talks about the house... I LOVE open spaces and the way many modern homes bring the outdoors in. Nice post! :)
ReplyDeleteThe marble wall is stunning! I can definitely live in that place.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it, it´s modern, yet not tooo modern:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!
Hugs Gunilla in Singapore
And where do these beauitful images come from?
ReplyDeleteabsolute perfection
Makes me think of Philip Johnson's Glass House. I think it's the landscape...and how exposed I feel.
ReplyDeleteFor me modern is likened to an ingredient in a recipie, like salt...doesn't taste the same without it, and it mixes well with everything.
Hi Qerat
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are from the Italian company Molteni&C, out of Milano. The link is in the post.
I love modern and this house is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in contemporary style homes, and although I envision myself living in more of a traditional style home (architecturally) I have such admiration for these beautiful images, with homes filled with glass and light.
ReplyDeleteThere is a home on the market in Atlanta right now, on my favorite street in my favorite area, and it is quite contemporary (architecture). I have not gone to see it, because I have it in my mind that I should get a traditional home, but every time I drive by I feel a pull...maybe I should go see it!
Fantastic blog - truly inspiring images! I've been looking for a suitable decor to compliment my friends amazing aluminium grandfather clock (let me know what you think....photo here: MAD Sculptures )- this might just do the trick?
ReplyDeleteLiving room looks kinda bright, but love what you did on the wall..
ReplyDeleteThe massive glass windows of the living room are amazing. Talk about getting to live as close to the outside as possible!
ReplyDeleteOh' I like this Modern Italian Interior Design. It's so simple and unique. I think I like this design for our house. Thanks for sharing. I've got an idea.
