I have been quoted in this month's issue of Canadian House and Home on my Style Resolutions for the new year.

Thanks for all your supportive comments!! I plan to do more posts this year on how I use green and environmentally friendly products in my Interior Design for clients. It is such a timely concern and if we can each start in a small way in our own environments it can go a long way to doing something positive for our world that we all live in.

ooo now I'm off to check out the Gracie Studio line!
ReplyDeleteAre you really going green? I'm going gray. hahah!!! I can't wait until this hits the stands then I'm going to open it up and point at your quote and tell everyone standing around me that I know you!!!!! Like a very Proud friend. :)
ReplyDeleteWow Congratulations! Both for beeing quoted in the magazine :-) and for going green. That is so inspirational! Hapy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff!
ReplyDeleteGreen is a part of compassionate design. I love this!
To our Earth and all the inhabitants... be gentle, be kind.
Fabulous resolutions, Patricia! I worked for an architect in NYC as an interiors/materials/systems spec and tried to get the entire office more aware of sustainable materials - I managed to get one of our projects as part of the LEED for Homes program. I accumulated quite some knowledge and resources.
ReplyDeleteI have also found that most people are resistant to "greening" their homes because they believe you have to sacrifice design. It is true only to a certain extent. There are new products out there every day. It is up to the designers to dispell that idea, to find and create stylish and yet sustainable alternatives.
Sustainability is the future, and not just in trends and design.
It's fabulous of you, as a person and a designer, to head your resolutions in this direction! Spread the word! ;-)
Have a Wonderful New Year!
Good for you. Fewer things, better quality - yeah! You're my hero, for sure. (And that G S wallpaper is divine.) Happy earth-conscious '08!
ReplyDeleteWow, wonderful resolutions: 2 dear to my heart-Going green-Yay! and Fewer, more precious things. This is my mantra- fewer things made well instead of mass production of future "trash" both saves the planet and improves the quality of life for everyone. Way to go Patricia.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you in 2008!
Julie
