A Glimmer of Hope

When I opened the blinds in my office this morning this is what I saw….could you hear me clapping my hands? I even did a little dance around my desk……. so happy, so happy. For those of you who live in Vancouver, you will understand. For those of you who live in more southern locations, you will think I have totally gone crazy. Yesterday I found myself on the internet looking up SAD to see if this was my problem, but today I know that I am just missing the sunshine. These beautiful crocuses that I planted last fall are my reminder that spring it is just around the corner! How strong and hardy they are pushing their way up and through the rocks. A testament to our northern spirit.

A view of the crocuses from my office window.

  1. Patricia,

How fun for you! This winter has been a bit extreme and you're not alone in looking up SAD my Dad was even mentioning he was feeling a bit bluer than normal in the winter's past.

We can always celebrate that "this too shall pass" and get excited to see, a renewed spirit, "new growth", and this seasons changing.

I appreciate and share your excitement and love that the universe is rewarding you in your faith and you're in that experiece now. Cheers!

  3. I hear you (well, not literally!). It was a long and difficult winter in Boston too this year and finally, finally the the remaining snow melted this weekend with the rain and warm temperatures. Bring on spring!

  5. And for us poor souls who live in even worse locations, we can both understand and feel very, very jealous! :)

I was in Victoria in late Feb and south-facing crocuses were in full bloom! We are still in the deep freeze.

We Persians feel the sound of spring exactly behind our ears since it is coming on March 21st when our New Year begins. Your picture conveys the smell of Spring beautifully. Thanks for sharing.

I know what you mean about Sun Worship. I went to Palm Springs, stayed at Desert Hills Inn
near the Tennis Club, love that area. The Modernism Week was wonderful, but being invited
to friend’s homes was the real treat. Mid Century magic!

  10. I am so thankful for the sunshine we had the past couple weeks. Winter dreariness gets to me so badly.

  11. Finally! Wishing you a happy spring, no more gray shies and drab colors, right?
    I am dancing with you!

  12. I used to live in Van and I miss there so much, that I can't even explain. If you ever move out of there you'd understand how precious this city is. Just the fact that you don't have snow is a blessing! Seeing these beauties are yet another very special blessing...

Have a wonderful day, Patricia and enjoy the Spring knocking! :-)
